Gupteswar Cave, Koraput , Odisha

Gupteswar meaning Hidden God, this is a cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is world famous pilgrim site situated about 55 km from Jeypore, Koraput District in the state of odisha, India. The main attraction is the gigantic Lord shiva which is said to be increasing in size. Devotees from odisha, chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh come to Gupteswar temple during festivals of Lord shiva and tourist comes every day.

Devotees walk to the Temple during Bolbom yatra to bathe in the Maha Kund and then chant Om Namaha Shivaya near the shiva Linga on Shiv Ratri at the temple. Men, women and children wear the new clothes and visit the temple on that auspicious day by offering of flowers , coconut, bela patra, fruits, milk, sweets. Gupteswar Temple is surrounded by deep forest.
